Beijing steelworks (Shougang 首钢) gallery
Shougang, literally « capital steelworks » used to be an important center for the production of steel in China. In the west part of Beijing, thousands of square meters of brownfield land were left over and then rediscovered by the authorities who now seek to attract new industries. The national industrial passed is glorified and former symbols of Shougang’s properity were preserved. But the activities for which the space is being used are also being diversified, like this sound and light show making a special use of the local architecture.
